About the Client:
The Centre of International Modern Art (CIMA) which opened in 1993 was designed under the guidance of renowned art galleries and museums in London and New York. In a short span, CIMA has emerged as one of the premier art centres of India.
It has curated and organized nearly a hundred exhibitions that have won critical and popular acclaim in India and abroad and has also been responsible for catalyzing creative excellence. For the past few years, CIMA has implemented several projects in association with national and international museums and educational institutions.

Our Role:
CIMA Art Gallery wanted to develop their new website that would be modern, smart, user friendly and at par with any renowned art gallery museum around the globe. They also wanted to incorporate for the first time in their history, the ‘Purchase Online’ facility that Festoon was given the task by CIMA Art Gallery to fulfil these objectives.
The Challenges:
Over the years CIMA Art Gallery has emerged as one of the premier art centres of India and it has curated and organized numerous exhibitions that have won critical and popular acclaim in India and abroad. The centre has over 11,000 sq.ft. of state-of-the-art gallery space in Kolkata, a comprehensive database and evaluation and publication facilities. It holds regularly, interdisciplinary interactions and seminars, presided over by scholars, artists, directors and performers of international repute.
CIMA Art Gallery wanted their new website to cover all these aspects and to highlight their role in giving focused attention on the finest talents of the contemporary art scene. They also wanted for the first time to implement and incorporate a very simple, easy to use, efficient and dynamic ‘Purchase Online’ facility in their new website.
Our Solution:
Based on the project objectives, an in-depth study of the current and future requirements of the client was conducted. The exact target and goals were categorized and strategic guidelines were framed. A thorough analysis of the globally recognized and renowned art galleries and museums
was conducted to provide the most accurate creative and development solution that would cater to the needs and aspirations of CIMA Art Gallery.
Apart from a crisp, clean and elegant front-end design layout for the website an extensive, efficient and dynamic ‘Purchase Online’ system was developed (including payment gateway integration) that enabled CIMA Art Gallery to showcase and sell online selected paintings of artists from around the country.
