Our Role:
Festoon worked for the vendor agency, Syscon Solutions, in creating interactive 3D games for a project that was being funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Challenges:
The project had multiple and complex challenges. The games were to be played by sex workers and hence had to be simple to run and operate. The content of the case studies had to be carefully studied and had to be segmented to provide questions and their possible solutions. The flow chart of the game had to be precise and planned exactly according to the main objective of creating awareness and educating sex workers about their rights and the correct path that they should choose when fighting exploitation, discrimination and oppression.
Our Solution:
Nine real life case studies of exploitation of sex workers in and around Kolkata were selected and converted into interactive games using 2D and 3D modelling and animation. A thorough study of the characters, their locations and all other relevant details were done to provide an authentic and realistic feel to the games. The objective was to use these games as an interactive learning tool for sex workers around the world to empower them and help differentiate between right and wrong steps towards fighting oppression and exploitation.
